Phil Robinson has been delivering Ropes Course Training (for trainers) for over fourteen years. He initially worked exclusively for one of the leading Ropes Course providers, before working independently. It is now fair to say that he is one of the leading trainers in this field, who still actually works with real clients.
Phil has designed a syllabus, which allows providers to structure the type of training required for their site and their staff. Courses include both technical training and interpersonal skills, and he places equal importance on both areas. Ropes Courses are designed to elicit an emotional response from participants, and therefore it is key to their experience that facilitators are capable of maximising the experience, whilst ensuring participants emotional and physical safety.

Currently Phil offers two types of training. The first is designed for Instructors using both high and low elements, looking at the types of equipment used, safe working practices of each element, how the different elements can be utilised to match different groups aims, interpersonal skills, accessing and inspecting the course safely and rescues.
The second is a stand-alone course, which focuses on a greater depth of understanding of experiential learning, which can be applied to any area of the industry, not just Ropes Courses. The latter draws on Phil's own experiences working with vastly diverse groups over twenty three years, combined with tried and tested vehicles, including NLP, Appreciative Facilitation, etc.

Duration of courses depend on the level of experience of candidates and the type and size of course they will be working on. Prior to any course we will, as usual have extensive discussions with our customer to ensure that it is entirely suited to their needs.
Recent customers include Avon Tyrell Youth Clubs UK, Northern Adventures, Extreeme Adventure, In2Action, open courses on behalf of Ropes Course Developments and the RAF on behalf of Vertex Training.
